Alfred Da Costa has a broad range of experience in the commercial arena, having owned and operated various businesses in the Eastern Cape, as well as having strong community and educational affiliations. His career began as chief business advisor for the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC). He was, for a four year period until 2000, a board member of the centre for Investment and Marketing in the Eastern Cape (CIMEC). Simultaneously therewith, from 1998 until 2006, Alfred served as chief executive officer of the Port Elizabeth Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PERCCI).
Currently Da Costa is a non executive director at Bidvest Group Limited and the chairman of IQUAD Group Limited. Da Costa is also the director of Ukuvula Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd, council member at the University of South Africa (UNISA) and current president of PERCCI. |

Paul De Vantier has been involved in the Market Research and Marketing Consulting business for 25 years. Through a management buy-out Paul and two partners set up a specialist market research and business intelligence consulting partnership in 1990.
Over time Paul’s experience base and expertise focused increasingly on the Motor Industry – specialising in feasibility studies, product development, brand building and service quality processes. Positive outcomes with many projects with blue chip clients has resulted in long standing relationships.
Founded in 2004 KA SMART, a wholly owned subsidiary of RGT SMART, is the logical culmination of Paul’s experience and knowledge. |

Frans, B Compt (Hons) CA (SA), completed his articles with PKF in Port Elizabeth and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2003. The next 4 years he spent time in the automotive component industry and gained valuable exposure to the industry and the manufacturing environment.
In 2007 he joined IQuad Group Limited in the capacity of Financial Director. IQuad Group listed on the Alternative Exchange (AltX) of the JSE at the end of 2007 and he served as an executive member of the IQuad board before joining RGT SMART as Financial Director/ Chief Operating Officer in August 2012. |
dr. neal stanley bruton |
Dr. Neal Bruton was a student at the University of Port Elizabeth (UPE) where he received a B.Comm degree in 1981, a B.Comm Honours degree in 1982, and an M.Comm degree, Cum Laude, majoring in economics, in 1986. In 1992, he received a D.Comm degree in economics on the basis of a thesis that investigated, 'The Structure, Conduct and Performance of the Passenger Car Manufacturing Industry in South Africa '. Dr. Bruton's career in the motor industry spanned seventeen years with Volkswagen of South Africa. In 1995 he was appointed as an alternate director of Volkswagen Finance (Pty) Ltd. Dr Bruton also gained international motor industry experience with the Volkswagen Group having lived and worked in Wolfsburg, the home of the company’s head office in Germany, in Detroit in the USA and in Milton Keynes in England.In October 2003 Dr. Bruton together with his business partner Mr Martin Kruger, was recognized by the South African Automotive Yearbook for services to the South African motor industry, and both were admitted to the “Automotive Hall of Fame”. |
Cumesh Moodliar |
Cumesh Moodliars tertiary education started as a student at Rhodes University from 1989 to 1993 where he successfully completed his BA LLB. His career at Goldberg & De Villiers Inc. a Port Elizabeth based law firm started in 1994. He was appointed as a Professional Assistant in 1996 and as a Director at the end of 1996. In 2000 Cumesh furthered his tertiary education and successfully completed his LLM (Tax) at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU). In 2003 he took over the Managing Directorship role at Goldberg & De Villiers Inc. His areas of expertise are in Corporate/Commercial Law, Insurance Law and High Court Litigation. He serves as an Independent Trustee on the NMMU Investment Trust and also as a Member of the Advisory Board to the NMMU Law Faculty. Cumesh is an Independent Non-Executive Director at RGT Smart.

Trevor Hayter |
Mr. Trevor Bertram Hayter, B.Com C.A.I.B., F.I.F.M. served as Chief Executive of IQUAD Group Limited until March 2010. Mr. Hayter has notable skills and experience in financial services, treasury and banking, business development, entrepreneurship, acquisitions and mergers. Mr. Hayter has extensive experience in banking, FX risk management (financial and market risk), interest rate risk management and liquidity risk management. Furthermore, he has substantial general management and business experience -having had a solid 10 years in the corporate (Banking) world. Mr. Hayter has been an entrepreneur for more than 20 years, having been party to starting many different businesses. He has been an Executive Chairman of IQUAD Group Limited since July 5, 2005 and serves as its Director. He served as the Chairman of IQUAD Group Limited. Mr. Hayter also serves as Director of IQuad Treasury Solutions P/L. He has been a Non-Executive Director of Ububele Holdings Ltd. since July 2010. |
Brand Pretorius |
Mr. Pretorius has played a primary role in the motoring industry since he started working for Toyota South Africa in 1973, where he became Managing Marketing Director in 1988. In 1995 he joined South Africas largest motor retail group, McCarthy Motor Holdings, as chief executive; a position he held until retiring in February 2011.
Brand is a member of the main board of the National Business Initiative, the READ Educational Trust Board of Trustees, the advisory board of the University of Stellenbosch Business School and is the immediate past president of the South African Retail Motor Industry Organization. He was appointed as an ambassador of the SA Valued Citizens Initiative in May 2008 and in November 2009 as a Visiting Executive at the Centre for Responsible Leadership at the University of Pretoria. In the annual Trust Barometer opinion survey amongst company directors by the research company Ask Afrika, he was recognized in August 2009 as the most trusted leader in the South African motor industry. Brand has been appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director on the RGT Smart Board.

Pete Backwell |
Pete qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Pim Goldby and when he left the accounting profession he was a partner in the Tax Division at Deloitte in Johannesburg. He joined the Management Services Division of the Nedbank Group in 1991 and during his 13 years at Nedbank he headed the Corporate Banking Division and was Managing Director of the Retail and Wealth Management Division.
Pete was a non-executive of H.L. Hall and Sons Holdings Limited (“Halls”) from 1993 until 2004 when he joined Halls as an executive director. Halls is the indirect controlling shareholder of RGT SMART through Lightstone (Proprietary) Limited (which is 65% held by Halls).

Anthony Miller |
Anthony started his career as an engineer with AECI (African Explosives and Chemical Industries). After registering as a professional engineer, Anthony moved on to McKinsey where he spent 6 years as a strategy consultant. In 2006, Anthony co-founded Lightstone, a technology company initially focused on the South African mortgage industry. Under Anthony's leadership, the company has grown and diversified substantially and now provides data-driven solutions across the property, automotive, consumer and business sectors. Anthony has recently stepped down as CEO of Lightstone to build an Africa-focused technology group built around data, analytics and software development. Anthony has an engineering degree from the University of Cape Town and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. Anthony was nominated to the Forum of Young Global Leaders by the World Economic Forum in 2009.
